Information for Researchers

Research is an integral part of APL and complements our commitment to patient care. We work collaboratively with local, national and international health institutes to support new and ongoing research initiatives. APL possesses unique, invaluable laboratory datasets that are used to study the patterns, presentation, progression and treatment outcomes of disease. We work with pharmaceuticals and/or diagnostics companies to aid in the development of innovative treatments as they progress along the regulatory approval pathway.

APL continues to play a key role in the development of Alberta’s diagnostic biotech industry providing partnership with local industry leaders and working to expand upon existing relationships with University of Alberta and the University of Calgary. Clinical trials, research in basic laboratory sciences, and epidemiological studies are used to identify, refine and explore laboratory diagnostic scientific questions and support the translation of today’s research into tomorrow’s diagnostics and treatments.
